What is Smartgolfer Network?

By joining Smartgolfer network, your golf club has enabled you, the golfer, the ability to play some wonderful courses either for free, or at a discounted rate.

How does it work?

Pay your membership at your local golf club and you access the Smartgolfer network overnight!

Where can I play?

There are several clubs in the Smartgolfer network. Maybe you are going on holiday or you simply want to take advantage of the network for a day out and play another course. Either way, search the network and ensure that you contact your chosen course before you set off.

About the Smartgolfer Network

The SmartGolfer Network was established in 2008 by a small group of individual clubs who were looking to add value to their Club Membership packages, by offering access to other courses inclusive within their own membership charges. This “added value” is very attractive to individual golfers, helping to ensure that retention rates from existing members are high, whilst also being a very attractive incentive for an existing “nomadic” golfer to join a club.

Smartgolfer Network Rules

It is the Smartgolfer’s aim to ensure that we add value to the golf course and every member of the golf club. We believe that the service we offer is unrivalled and that the value that golfers get is unparalleled. However, we ask that you familiarise yourself with the rules.

Golfers wanting to book SmartGolfer Network rounds are asked to pay particular attention to Rules 5 and 12.

Rule 5 makes it clear that there is ONE free start time per group. If you want to take 10/12/16 etc players that is great, the first tee time (4 players) is free and the remaining number of golfers will be charged at the “yellow column” price shown on each Clubs individual page.

Rule 12 makes it clear that you cannot expect to be given a reciprocal round as part of a golf society day or Open Tournament etc.

Join the Network

High levels of retention and attraction of new members, mean a successful and vibrant club.

The access of Network Club’s members to each other courses is not an open ended and onerous obligation in terms of providing tee times. Each Club in the network makes available 2 tee times per day Monday to Friday as being available to other SmartGolfer Network Club Members. Once those times are taken, it is at the discretion of the host club as to whether they will allow further tee times on that day. On days where the host Club is busy with Golf Societies, Club Matches, Club Competitions etc, the Host club has the option to not offer any tee times on that day.

The network has now grown to over 30 clubs (Jan 2015), making it the largest independent network in the UK.

There are a very straightforward set of “Rules” for the network (see below for download). They are designed to keep workload for the Clubs to a minimum and to enable easy access for Member Club Golfers.
