Welcome to Harwich & Dovercourt Golf Club

The Harwich & Dovercourt Golf Course is a tricky parkland course, close to the coast. Measuring 5772 yards from the yellow tees – mens  (par 70) and 5388 yards from the red markers – ladies (par 72).

H&DC GC is played twice from the same tees, but do not assume that the back nine will play the same as the front! The winds from the Essex coast can veer dramatically over a few hours and provide an entirely different challenge in the space of a few hours!

The course features OOB close to the left side of many holes, making the fade shot a handy weapon for the right hander! Flat greens with subtle borrows catch out the golfers who don’t get down and look at the line properly!

H&DC GC is renowned for one of the toughest par 3’s in the county, if not in the country!!  Only the toip of the flag is visible from the tee, so be certain to look for the position before teeing off! With OOB down the left, a narrow entrance to the green which is itself surrounded by bunkers, a lay up short is worth contemplating, leaving you an up and down for a par which will feel like a birdie!

Then, a drink on the terrace overlooking that final green and watch other golfers get into tangles on it as well…….
