The main course was redesigned and redeveloped in the winter of 2006/
spring 07, at a cost of £1m by Jonathon Gaunt, course architect.
This has added another 1000yds in distance to the previous layout, adding new greens and tees as well as reconstructing and adding nearly 80 new bunkers. Today the course is almost unrecognisable to the original layout. With substantial investment on course maintenance, Lexden Wood is fast becoming Colchester’s premier golf centre.
